Accommodation in Tanzania
|
Tanzania is a wonderful country in East Africa, just south of the Equator and has the countries of Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, Malawi and Mocambique as neighbors, plus the warm Indian Ocean where the “spice island” of Zanzibar is situated, not too far from the port of Dar es Salaam.
Tanzania is famous as a wildlife adventure destination, with safaris in light aircraft or 4x4 safari vehicles to Serengeti Plains, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Grumeti Game Reserve, Selous Game Reserve, Tarangire National Park or Ruaha National Park. For the hikers and climbers, Mount Kilimanjaro is a challenge to all, with a variety of routes to choose from. I personally summitted ‘Kili’ in 1995 – what an awesome experience!!
So, if you are wanting luxury accommodation, a 1st class lodge wildlife safari, a flying safari, fantastic wildlife viewing, Mount Kilimanjaro ascent, 4x4 wildlife safari – then Tanzania is a super destination for your next vacation in Africa. Please treat the rates as a guideline only – as some include all activities at the lodge or hotel and others are on a Bed & Breakfast basis only. Some lodges have seasonal rates, with high season attracting the highest rates, due to the wildlife and scenery being at the peak during these months. The mass migration of hundreds and thousands of zebra and wildebeest, followed by the predators, is a year-round experience – as they move through the Serengeti, Grumeti to Masai Mara in Kenya, before turning around and returning to Tanzania. I can send you a map of their migration route, on request.
South Africans - please note, these are luxury lodges and not budget camping sites. The prices are to give you a guideline as to the cost you will have to pay. There are specials at some lodges, in LOW SEASON, designed for budget travellers.
NOTE Prices are Per Person Per Night (pppn) unless stated otherwise. PLEASE NOTE We do NOT book campsites nor self-catering establishments - this is a LUXURY lodge website.

A volcanic crater of over 259 square kilometres with surrounding walls rising 609 metres above it, the crater is a natural sanctuary for over 25,000 animals, including the black rhino. It is also a conservation area inhabited by the Masai tribe.
The Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is built onto the rim of this amazing natural phenomenon, a stunning plant and local creeper covered stone lodge where guests co-exist in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural environment and wildlife. Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, close to some of the earliest dwellings of man in Olduvai Gorge, has taken their cave paintings as inspiration. It is built of stones and boulders and is literally hidden in the vegetation of the crater’s rim, disappearing completely from view from the crater’s floor.
