Perched on the edge of the famous Ngorongoro Crater at the eastern edge of the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular lodges in Africa. The Crater, considered one of the Wonders of the World, is a World Heritage Site with spectacular wildlife and home to the famous Olduvai Gorge where some of the earliest human origins were found. Inspired in design by the Maasai mud-and-stick manyatta, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge comprises three intimate camps, North Camp (12 suites), South Camp (12 suites) and Tree Camp (6 suites), each offering breathtaking views and private butler service. Set in an exclusive private concession deep in the heart of Maasai territory in the game-rich north-eastern Serengeti, Klein’s Camp (10 cottages) is one of Tanzania’s true gems. It is right off the beaten tourist track, and, from its vantage point in the Kuka Hills, has unimpeded views of the valleys along which wildebeest and zebra migrate.

A splendid tented camp set in the remote western corridor of the Serengeti National Park, Grumeti River Camp (10 spacious tents) offers a comfortable haven from which to experience the truly wild pulse of Africa. Interpretive game-drives explore savannah and woodlands boasting the largest mass of free-ranging game on earth, and vast herds of wildebeest cross the Grumeti River during their annual migration, running the gauntlet of Africa’s most fearsome crocodiles. Large pods of hippo grunt from their watery, lily-clad hideaway below camp.
