Game Lodges:
Luangwa
Reserve
KAPANI LODGE
Kapani is an exclusive 10 room Lodge in the Mfuwe area of Zambia's
South Luangwa National Park. The camp is beautifully situated overlooking
a lagoon, each suite stylishly designed and set amid lush grounds.
Cuisine is important to us at all our camps but none more so than
at Kapani where we fuse tastes and styles from around the world.
Norman Carr Safaris prides itself on
its guides, hand picked and trained, to escort you through the bush,
although Africa's big and exciting animals are found in abundance
in the Luangwa Valley, your guides will also interpret the sounds,
the smells and those little details that are so easily passed by.
LUWI BUSHCAMP
The most remote of Norman Carr Safaris' 4 bushcamps, Luwi is stunning
in its simplicity and rustic approach. Rooms are constructed entirely
of natural materials, the bar and dining table are found beneath
a grove of mahogany trees. There are no roads in this area of the
National Park so gameviewing is entirely on foot, it is not unusual
to lie awake at night listening to the roar of the Luwi River pride,
the rise and stalk them in the early morning light. What better
way to start a day!
NSOLO BUSHCAMP
A few hours walk downstream from Luwi Bushcamp, Nsolo is nestled
under a grove of trees adjacent to a water hole. The rooms are on
wooden decks with open fronts and thatched roofs . Bathrooms are
open topped with private views to the bush around.
KAKULI BUSHCAMP
Again an easy mornings walk downstream from Nsolo, Kakuli is a traditional
tented camp. 5 tents are set on the confluence of the Luwi and Luangwa
Rivers with impressive views up river. Over 400 hippo live in this
stretch of the Luangwa so nights are never quiet.
MCHENJA BUSHCAMP
Set in an ebony grove on the bank of the main Luangwa River, Mchenja
consists of 5 wooden thatched chalets, this camp is the last of
Norman Carr Safaris' 4 bushcamps and is again within walking distance
of its neighbour Kakuli. All 4 of these bushcamps are individually
designed and intended to compliment each other. The gameviewing
is hard to beat and what better way of exploring one of Africa's
finest national Parks than on foot.

Hotels and Country Lodges:
The
River Club
Although this Camp is strictly speaking
not a wildlife Lodge, the Zambian National Park is found just across
the waters, and lion and wildlife can often be heard in the evening.
This Classic Camp, as designed by owner, Peter Jones, has ten luxury-thatched
chalets overlooking the Zambezi River. Two honeymoon suites, The
Livingstone and The Rhodes are also available for honeymooners.
The main house includes a dining room, lounge and
fascinating library. The swimming pool has a magnificent view over
the river. Activities include everything from bungi jumping, swimming,
fishing, river surfing, white-water rafting, abseiling, parachuting,
micro-lighting, helicopter flights over the Falls (known as the
“Flight of Angels”), horse riding, elephant riding,
clay pigeon shooting, and day and night games of croquet on the
lawns, for those who are keen.
Each of the units has it’s own viewing deck,
and superb open-air, yet private, bathroom facility with Victorian-style
tubs and unbeatable views!

The Royal Livingstone
The local tribes call it Musi-O-Tunya
- The Smoke that Thunders. On the forested banks of the great
Zambezi River, upstream of the mighty cataract where it thunders
into the Batoka Gorge, is The Royal Livingstone, pride of Zambian
hospitality. In its cool lounges you will encounter the elegance
and luxury of an earlier, more courteous age.
The Royal Livingstone is located on the Zambian side of the Victoria
Falls. The 173 luxurious rooms with their comfortable furnishings
are tastefully decorated in the soft earth tones of the bushveld,
with spreading views of the river and the Acacia forest. Guests
may view Africa's BIG 5 on a cruise up the river, from a private
Landrover or even from the elevated perspective of an elephant's
back. For the more adventurous, there is Tiger fishing, white
water rafting or jet boating, to name but a few!
